In March 2023, our company VZU Plzeň expanded its authorization for the supply of services for ČEZ a.s., the Nuclear Energy (NPP) division, to include renovation and pre-production in the field of surface treatment of machine components of NPP reserved technical equipment using thermal spraying technologies.
As part of the demanding qualification process, we first defended the certification according to ČSN EN ISO 14922 “Quality requirements for manufacturers of hot-sprayed coatings” for the scope of activities focusing on nuclear power plants, the acquisition of which is one of the necessary conditions for starting the qualification of a supplier of hot-sprayed coatings for nuclear operators power plants in the Czech Republic.
In connection with the requirements placed on the suppliers of ČEZ a.s., NPP division, and the need to incorporate them into the internal regulations for thermal spraying, the company VZÚ Plzeň was given a suitable opportunity to improve the quality of production processes, especially in the area of inspections of additional materials, management of operational inspections within production and internal requirements for personnel qualifications. Currently, the thermal spraying workplace has workers who hold both the ETSS (European specialist responsible for supervising the implementation of thermal spraying) and ETS (European practitioner for thermal spraying) certificates awarded by the Czech welding company ANB authorized by the EWF (European Welding Federation) .
