The use of FEM in energy

FEM VZU 2024

A practical demonstration of the role of colleagues from the department of mathematical modeling who deal with the assessment of the heat treatment of part of the membrane wall, which forms an integral part of energy boilers. Our goal is to reduce the occurrence and development of cracks in the wall.

💡 Key Points:
Identification of cracks in 2 key locations of the membrane wall.
Determination of optimal conditions and temperatures for heat treatment using simulations and experiments.

🌐 Methodologies and Simulations:
We use modern methodologies and #FEA simulations with the #ANSYS program for modeling heat treatment processes. An important part of our solution is experimental heating with annealing blankets and tensile tests at elevated temperatures.

📈 Results and Recommendations:
Our activities lead to the identification of risks and the assessment of the physical feasibility of heat treatment. Based on the results of simulations and experiments, we propose a more efficient and reliable heat treatment solution.
